Mansa Musa, the 14th-century ruler of the Mali Empire in West Africa, had several wives. However, there is little information available about them as written records from that era are scarce. It is believed that he had multiple wives, but the actual number is unknown. One of his most famous wives was Inari Kunate, who was also known as Kanku Musa. She was said to be his favorite wife, and he reportedly built a palace for her in Timbuktu. Mansa Musa was a devout Muslim, and his wives were likely chosen from among his subjects and from other Islamic ruling families in the region. They would have likely played important roles in the court and may have been involved in political affairs. However, due to the lack of information available, much of their lives and contributions remain a mystery.
